How to Resize an Image in Photoshop by Dragging



In Photoshop objects or images can be resized by using the transform function. But, it could be difficult to find the resize options for beginners. In this article, we will discuss some simple steps which can help us to resize the objects or images in Adobe Photoshop.

Creating a new project 


First, create a new project by selecting create a new option in Photoshop. We can also create a new project from File > New or by using short cut keyboard ‘Ctrl + N’ choose the size of the project as you like and click on create.

Inserting the image

After creating the new project, we should insert an image. So, for that, go to the File > Open from the top menu. Or we can also use the shortcut keyboard ‘Ctrl + O’




Then, choose the image you want to insert and click on 
open we can also select multiple images by pressing Ctrl and multiple images at the same time.






Coping the image


Now, you can see that the image is inserted. We have to copy this image to the previous project. So, in order to do that choose the ‘Select Tool’ which is at the top left corner. 



After choosing that select the whole image as shown in the picture below.  After selecting the whole image, a dotted border will appear around the image.





To copy the image go to Edit > Copy or use ‘Ctrl + C’ then, select the previous project from the top left corner.



After that, go to Edit > Paste or use ‘Ctrl + V’ to paste that image. The image will be appeared in the previous project.



Check on Show Transform Controls

This step is an important step of the whole process. To resize the object in Photoshop, first, we need to enable transform controls.

For it, choose the move tool from the left sidebar. The move tool is mostly found at the top. Then, click on the show transform controls check box to enable it. Now, we can see the transformation controls appear around the image.




Resizing the image

Now, we will be able to resize our image as we like. Just take the cursor to the white dot on the image, and then click and drag the cursor to resize the image.

In this way, we can easily resize any object or image in Photoshop.


Conclusion

Photoshop offers an option through which we can easily resize any image or object. But for those who just started to learn Photoshop, it could be difficult to resize an image or object. To use resize option, first, we should select the move tool from the left sidebar, and then enable the Show Transform Controls by clicking on its checkbox.
